Security Advisory (December 2025) – Fraudulent Recruitment Activities Misusing the iFAST Brand
Have you received unexpected calls, emails, or text messages claiming to be from iGB, FSMOne or iFAST? Please be cautious! These may be scams attempting to misuse our brand name.
In recent weeks, we have been alerted to multiple instances of individuals being contacted with purported job offers falsely presented as originating from our organisation. We would like to clarify that these communications are not associated with us in any way. To safeguard yourself against potential recruitment fraud, we strongly advise all jobseekers to verify the legitimacy of any unsolicited employment opportunities before engaging or providing personal information.
If you are ever in doubt, we strongly encourage you to verify the authenticity of such requests before taking any action. You may contact us through our official social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and Xiaohongshu, for confirmation and updates.
We encourage all jobseekers to remain vigilant and verify any recruitment-related information to safeguard your personal data and avoid potential loss of privacy or security. If you believe you have shared sensitive information with a scammer or have been affected by a fraudulent job offer, please report the incident to the local authorities immediately.
Jobseekers Targeted by Fraudulent Parties Misusing the iFAST Name
We have observed several patterns in the scam attempts. The following examples have been shared by members of the public.
Case 1: Asking Candidates to Pay for Background Verification
An individual reported receiving an unsolicited approach regarding a purported “Senior Manager – Business Intelligence & Analytics” position at iFAST Singapore. The message included a fabricated job ID and a falsified candidature number to create the impression of legitimacy. The scammer also misused the name of a genuine iFAST HR staff member and falsely claimed she was the designated contact for the role.
As part of the scheme, the individual was instructed to undergo a paid “Global Work & Education Verification (GWEV)” process through an external vendor. This is a common tactic used by scammers to deceive jobseekers into making upfront payments under the guise of recruitment formalities.
We wish to emphasise that such practices do not form part of iFAST’s recruitment process. iFAST never requests payment for interviews, assessments, verifications, or any stage of a job application.
Case 2: Use of a Fake Job Description PDF Containing the iFAST Logo
We have also been informed of cases in which jobseekers were contacted through unsolicited Gmail accounts, personal email addresses, or LinkedIn messages regarding supposed job openings at iFAST. In several instances, the individuals received a PDF document presented as an official iFAST job description. Upon closer examination, these documents contained multiple warning signs:
- Typographical and formatting errors
- Claims of remote roles based in India
- False statements suggesting that iFAST collaborates with third-party recruitment agencies
- Fabricated job ID numbers and position details
These tactics are commonly used by scammers to establish credibility and persuade jobseekers to proceed with fraudulent processes.
We would like to reaffirm that we have not advertised such roles, and we do not engage any of the agencies or individuals mentioned in these reports. All genuine iFAST job opportunities are published through our verified recruitment channels, including our Careers website and recognised job portals such as LinkedIn and JobStreet. We do not contact candidates via personal Gmail accounts or through unverified social media messages.
Case 3: Fake Interview Scheduling and Requests for Personal Information
Several individuals have reported encounters with scammers who employed various deceptive tactics under the guise of recruitment. These included requesting personal information through counterfeit “application forms”, soliciting identification documents or sensitive data prior to “confirming an interview”, and arranging interviews that were subsequently not attended.
Such methods are frequently used to obtain personal data for fraudulent or unauthorised purposes.
How to Identify a Potential Recruitment Scam
To safeguard yourself, please remain vigilant and take note of the following indicators of fraudulent recruitment activity:
Red Flags:
- Requests for payment relating to verification checks, training, interviews, or onboarding processes.
- Communication sent from generic or personal email addresses (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) rather than official corporate domains.
- Job descriptions containing grammatical errors, implausible benefits, or information that does not align with our business operations.
- Requests for personal or financial information prior to any formal interview or verification of authenticity.
- Interviews that are repeatedly rescheduled or cancelled without legitimate explanation.
- Messages that apply undue pressure or insist on urgent action.
Recommended Actions:
- Refer to our official Careers page to confirm the legitimacy of job opportunities.
- Avoid clicking on unfamiliar links or downloading attachments from unknown sources.
- Refrain from sharing personal identification documents (e.g., NRIC, passport, bank details, payslips) with unverified parties.
- Never make any form of payment as part of a recruitment or application process.
- If any communication appears suspicious or unverifiable and you are uncertain, do feel free to reach out to us for confirmation before proceeding with any request.
